Youth Forum in Goris

Youth’s Critical Perspectives on the Peace Process

On July 22, the Caucasus Institute and the Max Planck Foundation launched a series of joint youth forums in Goris. During the Syunik forum, security expert Sergey Minasyan and political expert Alexander Iskandaryan discussed the current state, challenges, and prospects of the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process and Armenia–Turkey normalization. The discussions were followed by interactive group work, where participants developed and shared their own visions of peace. At the conclusion of the forum, 10 young people from Syunik were selected to represent the region at the final inter-regional forum in Jermuk this November, where they will exchange perspectives with youth from Gegharkunik and Tavush. The forums are part of the “Youth’s Critical Perspectives on the Peace Process” project, funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
