THE CHANGING NATURE OF MODERN WARS AND MILITARY CONFLICTS AND THEIR IMPACT ON ARMENIA’S SECURITY AND DEFENSE POLICY
On September 23, 2025 the Caucasus Institute held a closed discussion in Yerevan. The event was organized within the framework of the project “Strengthening Armenia’s National Security Policy” and brought together representatives of the RA Security Council Office, the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces General Staff, other security agencies, and field experts. A policy brief was presented on the evolving nature of modern warfare and its implications for Armenia’s security and defense policy. Speakers addressed international experience in civil–military relations, key challenges in Armenia’s defense sector, the role and interrelationship of the National Defense Strategy and the Military Doctrine within Armenia’s security framework, as well as issues related to strategic planning and conduct of operations in contemporary conflicts. The project is funded by the UK Government through its international development assistance.
